How To Permanently Delete Messages On Facebook
Step 1. Click the "Messages" symbol on your Facebook homepage. The Messages symbol is located in the leading left edge and also appears like 2 small overlapping speech bubbles.
Step 2. Click the discussion consisting of the message or messages you want to erase. If it is not detailed on the initial Messages pop-up window, click "See All" to see all of your private messages. Click the discussion on that list consisting of the message you intend to delete.
Step 3. Click the "Actions" switch and then click "Delete Messages" on the Actions drop-down menu.
Step 4. Click the check boxes located beside the messages you intend to delete.
Click "Delete" and afterwards click "Delete Messages" to validate that you wish to delete the selected messages.
Idea
To delete an entire conversation instead of specific messages, click "Delete Conversation" after clicking the Actions menu in the 3rd action.
Warning
Removing a private message in your Messages inbox does not delete it from the inbox of your discussion partner.
